A super friendly place - possibly the friendliest hospital Stephen has worked at. Do try us. Decide for yourself.
A report from Safer Care Victoria suggests Mercy Hospital has among the lowest rates of fetal and neonatal losses of all hospitals across the state.
For some pregnancies an unexpected curveball can appear. The baby is born early. Junior is born a little sicker than usual and needs heavy duty care, perhaps just for a day or two.
We are lucky to have state of-the-art facilities on tap providing intensive care for babies who need it. Our neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and special care unit looks after particularly vulnerable bubs as they make their first uncertain steps into the world.
The risk of an early birth at private hospitals without a NICU may mean a rushed transfer of care to a tertiary facility. Not at Mercy Hospital. If such concerns arise you can continue your care with Prof Tong.
Worried about the baby’s movements?
Did my waters just go?
If something happens and you are a little unsure, our emergency department is on tap, ready to work with Prof Tong to help. Our ED can do a rapid early assessment of you and baby, keeping you and baby safe.
Quite often, wait times at our emergency department can be pretty short.
Via Mercy Perinatal, we lead local, national and international teaching to keep doctors and midwives up to date. We are leading clinical trials and major international studies running globally.
A team of experienced midwives, doctors and allied health staff. Fully staffed surgical theatre open around the clock.
